1. Lydia Daffenberg says:

Flashpoint: Book One of THE UNDERGROUND
    Frank Creed

    • The Writers Cafe Press (September 30, 2007)

Per the above rules, nominations must have been published in 2012. 🙂

Eligible books must be all of the following: Published between January 1 and December 31 of the contest’s current year. (For example, for the Clive Staples Award held in 2013, entrants must have been published between, Jan. 1, 2012 and Dec. 31, 2012.)

    • Lydia Daffenberg says:

Oops. Wrong publishing year. Let’s try this again!

  2. Lydia Daffenberg says:

    • Great idea to give a link. That way readers who are interested can find it. After all, eligible voters must have read at least two (2) of the nominations. Might as well get started reading. 😀

    Frank Creed
    Splashdown Books (October 1, 2012)

    • Thanks, MT. You may not have noticed that Frank’s book was already nominated–first on the list, in fact. Once a book has been nominated by a reader, it doesn’t need a second.

Readers will get a chance to vote, however, as long as they’ve read at least one other nominated work. So those who have a favorite book should pick from the list ASAP and get started reading in order to be eligible to vote.

  20. Rebecca says:

  27. Kim says:

    Replication: The Jason Experiment
    Jill Williamson
    HarperCollins Publication

My other two favorites were published by Walker Hammond Publishers which I don’t think qualifies, but just in case they do, the books are Yesterday and The Locket by Amanda Tru

Just noticed two others nominated Jill’s book so I hope Amanda’s books work out!

    • Kim, I went to the only link I could find for Walker Hammond Publishers, which was a blog. I didn’t see anything about submission policy or whether or not they give royalties. There also wasn’t any information that I could find on the books you mention and the other works of Amanda Tru seem to be romantic suspense rather than speculative. In short, given this information, I’d have to agree with you that neither of those books qualify.

      Becky

    • A good indication about whether a book qualifies is if it’s in the Speculative Faith Library. (We do, however, list self-published books in the SF Library, and those titles would not qualify for the 2013 Clive Staples Award.) Use the Advanced Library Search box at the top right of this page to look for authors, titles, and/or other attributes.

If a legitimately published (royalty-paying) Christian speculative novel isn’t listed in the Library, it should be. If you can’t find the title there, please submit it to us.

  28. Jean says:

Daughter of Light by Morgan L Busse
Fast paced, well written, and teeming with God’s unfailing love!! My new favorite author!!

  29. amccalli says:

I would like to nominate the following two books.
Prophetess by Keven Newsome via Splashdown Darkwater
A Cast of Stones Patrick W Carr via Bethany House

    • Amccalli, thanks for being a part of the CSA nominating process. I just wanted to give you a heads up so you’re not thinking we inadvertently left off on of your choices. Patrick Carr’s A Cast of Stones is a 2013 publication, so it will be eligible next year.

      Becky

  30. Timothy Stone says:

I’ve read a bit of Christian speculative fiction in recent times, just not much yet that was published this past year exactly. I will nominate the one I have read that was published in 2012, which I thought was a brilliant book, so I’m more than happy to do so.

    Daughter of Light

    The Telling by Mike Duran

  36. Pauline says:

And this one doesn’t get enough attention –

    Rift Jump by Greg Mitchell
    http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/15780042-rift-jump

  37. Several titles I’d nominate have already been mentioned:
Daystar / Kathy Tyers — adult
Replication / Jill Williamson (young adult)
Spirit Fighter / Jerel Law (Thomas Nelson) — middle grade read

Can’t wait to read the ones I haven’t already read!

    • Meagan, thanks for your nominations. Obviously you’re read a lot in Christian speculative fiction. Yea! You’re the best kind of reader to help decide who deserves to be recognized with the CSA.

Thanks too for including the links. Normally I would have asked for you to include the publishers before adding the books (even though I know a good many of these–it’s a matter of consistency), but because you gave the links, I felt that was as good as giving the publishers since I could pull that info out easily.

I hope you pass the word on to your reader pals that we’re holding the CSA. Right now everyone should be reading! We want informed readers making the choice who should win the 2013 CSA.

      Becky

  38. Jennette says:

Wow, so many good books listed already, and most all the ones I can think of right now have already been nominiated. This will be hard to vote, but one I haven’t seen yet and would like to nominate:
Robert Mullin’s Bid the Gods Arise 12/12/12 by Crimson Moon Press

  39. Benjamin Edens says:

Prophecy of the Heir by JC Lamont

    • Nominate the book or books of your choice by giving the following information in the comments section of this post: title, author, and publisher.

      🙂

If I were nominating a book, I’d search for it at this very site to get that information. Chances are that we have the book listed in the Speculative Faith Library. And if it’s not in the Library, and would qualify for this contest, then it should be in the Library.

    • Hi, Benjamin, to include the book you’d like to nominate, we’ll need the publisher. Thanks.

      Becky

  40. I would like to nominate “Failstate” by John W. Otte published by Marcher Lord Press. This book was just perfect for its audience…and I loved it too.

  41. David M. says:
